Where Destiny Forgot Us 2

Where Destiny Forgot Us 2

Where Destiny Forgot Us 2 Summary

The next day, Bella approached Dr. Monroe, returning a unique watch she had found in her bag. Despite Bella’s awkward yet sweet demeanor and her envy over the watch’s rarity, Dr. Monroe coldly refused to take it back, telling Bella she could keep it if she wanted. Bella’s smile turned forced as she insisted she didn’t like being spied on, then teased Dr. Monroe about overhearing intimate moments involving Beckett, revealing she had recordings that hinted at Beckett’s complicated affections.

Bella played a recording where Beckett praised Dr. Monroe’s skills, implying a rivalry between Bella and Avery for his attention. Bella’s smugness faltered when Dr. Monroe’s silence remained unyielding. Tensions escalated quickly when Dr. Monroe grabbed Bella’s hair and slapped her, leading to a heated confrontation. Bella screamed in shock and accused Dr. Monroe of hitting her, but before things could worsen, Beckett arrived, witnessing the scene and ordering Bella to be escorted home, reaffirming that there was only one Mrs. Vale.

After the confrontation, Beckett gently tended to Dr. Monroe’s injured hand and dismissed Bella as immature. However, Dr. Monroe firmly declared her intention to divorce Beckett, shocking him. Beckett tried to downplay the situation, insisting his affair was insignificant and that he had been faithful to Dr. Monroe alone throughout their marriage. Despite his arguments, Dr. Monroe remained resolute in her decision.

The tense atmosphere was shattered by Lucas’s urgent arrival, announcing that Bella had been hit by a car outside. This sudden crisis added a new layer of urgency and concern to the already volatile situation between the characters.

The following day, Bella tracked me down once more.

“Dr. Monroe, your watch was in my bag,” she said, her voice tinged with a strange mix of awkwardness and sweetness.

She moved with a hesitant sway, but her smile was disarmingly gentle.

“That watch is truly one of a kind. I doubt there’s another like it anywhere in all of Westlake City,” she added, her tone dripping with envy.

I met her words with a cold, detached look and didn’t even reach out to retrieve it.

“If you want it, you can keep it,” I said bluntly.

Bella pressed her lips into a tight smile and deliberately set the watch down on the table.

“No, thank you,” she replied, her smile stiff and forced. “I don’t share the odd habit of letting others spy on me.”

She then settled herself in the chair opposite me, resting her chin on her hand, a mischievous grin playing on her lips.

“Dr. Monroe, did you enjoy last night?” she teased. “I made sure to bring my bag into the bedroom just so you’d get a better listen.”

Her eyes sparkled with a hint of mischief. “Although, you might have missed some parts. Beckett doesn’t limit himself to the bedroom, you know.”

That smug smile told me everything — she was fully aware of the details.

When I remained silent, Bella thoughtfully pulled out her phone and hit play on a recording.

“Beckett, between me and Avery, who do you love more?” the voice on the recording asked.

“How could she compare to your… skills?” Beckett’s voice was low, rough, and filled with a raw intensity. “This doctor’s technique is impressive.”

Bella retracted her phone with a provocative smirk.

“Dr. Monroe, I might have to trouble you more often in the future. My husband,” she deliberately dragged out the word, “is very fond of it.”

When I didn’t respond as she expected, her confident expression faltered for a moment.

“No wonder Beckett called you a boring blockhead. Just as I suspected, huh—”

Before she could finish, I raised my hand and grabbed a handful of her hair.

She let out a sharp scream as I slapped her twice across the face.

“How dare you hit me!” Bella shrieked, clutching her hair tightly.

Without hesitation, I yanked her toward the door.

“If you’re so proud of yourself, I’ll help you show the entire hospital just how low you can sink!”

Suddenly, the door swung open.

“Beckett!” Bella cried, breaking free from my grip and lunging toward him.

“I only came to return Dr. Monroe’s watch, and she started calling me a home-wrecker and slapped me!” she whined, her face already marked with fingerprints.

Beckett frowned at the sight, his eyes narrowing.

I met his gaze silently, steady and unflinching.

Just as Bella’s eyes gleamed with triumph, Beckett spoke casually to the assistant standing behind him.

“Escort Miss King home.”

“Beckett!” Bella gasped, disbelief written all over her face.

Beckett gave her a cold, dismissive glance.

“Remember your place. There is only one Mrs. Vale.”

Once the tension eased, Beckett reached out and gently took my reddened hand, softly blowing on it.

“Did she hurt your hand? She’s not worth your anger. Just a childish girl who doesn’t know any better.”

“Divorce,” I stated firmly.

“What?” he asked, stunned.

I pulled my hand away, enunciating each word carefully.

“Beckett, divorce. We’re done.”

For a moment, he was speechless. Then, seeing my unwavering expression, he let out a bitter laugh.

“Avery, think carefully. If you divorce me, that’s when you’re truly finished.”

I remained unmoved, my resolve clear.

Beckett’s brows furrowed in frustration. “All this because I have a woman on the side? You’re making such a big deal out of it?”

“You should know by now, in this world, no one in our circle stays faithful,” I replied coldly.

“In all these years of marriage, she’s the only one I’ve ever been with. That alone makes me better than most men,” he argued.

When I stayed silent, his expression darkened, shadows crossing his face.

Suddenly, Lucas’s voice cut through the heavy atmosphere as he rushed back into the room, his face pale and urgent.

“Mr. Vale! It’s bad! Miss King has been hit by a car outside!”
